Digital X-Rays
X-rays are cavity detecting pictures that allow us to see in-between the teeth and under the gingiva (gums). The x-rays used at Homegrown Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics are industry leading, having 90% less radiation then non-digital x-rays. We have even gone a step above that to provide extra-oral (outside the mouth) pictures for children who may not be able to bite on a film.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are a strong thin layer of bonding that prevent food and bacteria from getting trapped in the grooves of your child’s teeth. They make the tooth surface smoother and easier to keep clean. Applying sealants is a fast and comfortable process and has been proven to help prevent cavities for many years.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are like vitamins for your child’s teeth. Applying these vitamins are especially important as teeth grow. Fluoride will reduce the chances of your child getting cavities and remineralize (strengthen) weak parts of the teeth. There are several important sources of fluoride like toothpaste and drinking water, however none contain the prescription strength that only a licensed health care provider can apply.
